I wasn't ready to reveal these WIP's, but I can't decide on the sashing and I need your help.
I am making 2 versions of the quilt below, one in each colorway, for my daughters. I can't decide which sashing to put with which colorway. Please weigh in with your opinions.
Should I keep the pink with with pink, and the blue with the blue?
Or should I mix it up?
When I originally started this project, I envisioned it mixed up, but once I laid it out, I started having doubts. I think the problem is that I like both colorways with the pink sashing, but I am NOT going to make more.
What do you think?
Thanks for the help!
Jen

I think I'd keep the pink with the pink and blue with the blue. But what a tough decision --these quilts are gorgeous either way!
ReplyDeleteI think the same as CityHouseStudio
ReplyDeleteIt is a tough choice and the pink sashing really does look great with both colors! I think I'd go with the blue blocks/blue sashing and pink blocks/pink sashing. They are going to be beautiful either way!
ReplyDeleteI like the different colors together because instead of it all blending in it really makes something pop and brings it a little more to life for me.
ReplyDeleteI'm like you I like the pink with both. I'm not sure I like the blue sashing with the pink one -- it seems a little light and out of place.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I really love the sashing, very unique! The good news is that whatever decision you make will be a good one. My vote is to keep the same colors together.
ReplyDeleteYep, pink with the pink and blue with the blue! So lovely!
ReplyDeleteKeep the pink with the pink I think!
ReplyDeleteHm. I like the pink sashing too. I'm not so much a fan of the blue sashing with the pink, but it works well with the blue so I say don't mix them!
ReplyDeleteI like option one better as well. Fun sashing idea!
ReplyDeleteI like the pink with the blue option but not the blue with the pink so I think I'd keep the colors together. You honestly can't go wrong. Great job!
ReplyDeletei agree with you; the pink sashing looks great with either, i would keep the colors the same as the sashing. good luck, the sashings add a great element to the design.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking pink on pink and blue on blue... just looks right:)
ReplyDeleteI vote for like with like too!
ReplyDeleteI think the hot pink sashing overpowers the blue quilt. I would vote for the blue/blue and pink/pink.
ReplyDeleteI like the blue/blue and pink/pink (I think I weighed in already on flickr. :)) mostly because it seems like the focus should be on the blocks, not the borders. The hot pink with the blue ends up with the focus on the hot pink borders instead of the blue blocks. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the pink sashing with pink, the blue sashing with pink, and the blue sashing with blue, but really don't like the pink sashing with blue quilt, it overpowers it too much...
ReplyDeleteI like pink with pink as well, Jen! They are both fantastic, and your girls will be thrilled with them!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Tiffany! Keep blue with blue and pinks together!
ReplyDeleteBoth look lovely but I might like the first option a bit more.
ReplyDeleteI prefer option 2, far more dynamic, makes a statement of both quilts instead of being bland, obvious and the same as everything else out there. You can pull the differences together in the binding and the backing, backing blue with pink and pink with blue. For me swapping the colours around really makes all the colours sing. :D
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, i cant even think about the colour choices - I'm blown away by the sashing blocks!
