Guest Host #3 - Building Blocks Tuesday

Hi there everyone!  I hope you will head on over to the lovely Myra of Busy Hands Quilts again today.  I really enjoyed seeing her HST's last week, and am intrigued by the Aiming for Accuracy QAL she is participating in.  Go check out her guest post for Building Blocks Tuesday to learn more.  Next week, we have a brand new guest host.

If you have been on the fence about linking up in the past, now is an excellent time to try it out.  The linky is open for a longer period than usual, and bouncing around from guest host to guest host is bound to get you a few new people looking at your amazing blocks!

I am currently homeless.  It feels weird.  We are split between my in-laws house and our family place in the mountains.  I miss routine and my own quiet space.  I'm looking forward to going on vacation and getting one step closer to moving into the new house next month.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jen

TGIFF

Welcome to TGIFF!  If it is your first time here, please feel free to look around.  Things are a bit crazy at the moment as I am in the middle of a house move.  But, I didn't want to miss a chance to host TGIFF, so I saved a little something especially for this post.

In the beginning of the year, I signed up for a bunch of fun swaps on Instagram.  I just couldn't help myself, especially when the first few went so well.  After churning out a bunch of minis in a row, though, I started getting a bit burned out.  So, I am happy to share my last swap mini.....

Cotton and Steel Mini Swap item

This one is for the Cotton and Steel Mini Swap on Instagram.  The pattern is a variation of the Good Fortune pattern listed for free on the Cotton and Steel website.  I reduced it quite a bit to make it mini sized and I changed the layout just a tad.  I used the Homebody collection by Kimberly Kight, and mixed in some metallic background fabric.  I find it a little funny that the background fabric looks nearly the same as the concrete in the photo.  Now I just need to put a label on this mini, send it off and I will be officially done with swaps for a while.  That is, until I relapse again.

I could also show you a few pics of my house in boxes, something that I am definitely saying TGIFF about!  But, that wouldn't be very interesting.  I will say, though, that my studio had just as many boxes as my entire kitchen!  Scary!

Now it is your turn to link up!  The rules are simple - please only link up finishes and posts that link back to the TGIFF party so your readers can find TGIFF and link up too!

Jen

Just as a side note: if you have been on the fence about linking up in the past, now is an excellent time to try it out.  The linky is open for a longer period than usual, and bouncing around from guest host to guest host is bound to get you a few new people looking at your amazing blocks!

Call out for Guest Hosts - Building Blocks Tuesday

another maui sunset

I have some exciting news!  It looks like we will be moving.  Unfortunately, it is NOT to the gorgeous island of Maui shown above, but it is exciting all the same.  We've been looking for a house for nearly 3 years, and we finally have found something that will suit our needs.  However, it means that I will need to take my usual summer hiatus from blogging a little earlier this year, as I am already at a dead run trying to get everything done that I need to in order to prepare to move, sell this house, get the new one ready, and oh yeah, go on a little vacation!

Now I know what you are all thinking....does the new house have a sewing room?  Well, yes and no.  I probably won't have to have my studio in the dungeon garage any longer, but I will probably be sharing a nice big playroom with my kids.  Even though I am sure to have trouble with them messing with "my stuff", at least I will finally have a room with natural lighting, and the added benefit of being able to keep an eye on them while I sew.

So, with all this excitement, I haven't made any new blocks this week, and I don't even anticipate being able to sew for the next few weeks at all!  What does that mean for Building Blocks Tuesday?  I would like to open it up for anyone who would like to guest post for the next 6 weeks - don't worry, not the entire 6 weeks!  But if you would like to guest host one Tuesday, please let me know!  Otherwise, I will likely just extend the current linky to the end of July so you can add away.

What blocks have you working on this week?  I would love to see.  Link up your fabulous blocks.  You put a lot of hard work into them - show them off!  This free linky will stay open until the first Monday of next month, but I will repost it every Tuesday until a new month starts.
