In over my head - Building Blocks Tuesday

A tad late today.  If you can believe it, the cable guy just left and after over a week of living in the new house, we finally have wifi!  Normally, I am the type of person that doesn't mind being unplugged for a while, but I must admit that it made it difficult to get things done in the new house without being able to "google it" readily.

So yes, we are IN the new house.  However, I am still unpacking boxes.  Unpacked boxes seem to multiply when my back is turned.  I am wondering if I will ever finish.  Oddly enough, despite the fact that this house is bigger than our last, I am quickly running out of places to put stuff.  I think while we gained square footage, we lost some valuable and practical storage space.   Oh well, it will all find a home eventually.

I have not sewn since before our vacation, and I am eager to get back to it.  I have several bee blocks that are late (Jenni's and Katie's), and I don't like being "that person".  This was the state of my studio a few days ago.

New studio?

It has not progressed much since then, although I did find my machine and cutting mat yesterday.  So if you will forgive me, I will share a pic of a new NY Beauty Circle of Geese that I started just before leaving for vacation.

What blocks have you working on?  Please share by linking up your fabulous blocks.  You put a lot of hard work into them - show them off!

Normally this free linky is open the first Monday of the month, when it is reposted every Tuesday until a new month starts.  However, due to my crazy schedule this summer, this linky will remain open until the end of July, with a new linky starting the beginning of August (next week).  So join in this week, and come back next for a new linky!

Tic - Toc - Building Blocks Tuesday

We are still enjoying our vacation, but the clock is ticking.  It is getting closer to the time to return to reality!   I need to soak up my last rays of sunshine and enjoy a few more late mornings, because as soon as we return, we will be thrown into pure chaos once again!

BUT, in the words of Scarlet O'Hara, "I can't think about that right now.  If I do, I'll go crazy. I'll think about it tomorrow".

I actually have some blocks to share this week, but before I do, I want to thank all the fabulous guest hosts we have had so far!  It has truly been fantastic to see the linky travel around and have new people linking up to it.  While I am presenting the linky this week, we have one more guest host next week while I am moving into my new house!  Alison of Little Bunny Quilts will be sharing again next week, and I am really looking forward to it!

8 Carat Star

Sometime after we moved out of our condo, but before we went on holiday, I was pleased to teach my first class on paper piecing!  I had a great group of ladies with me for the day, and we had a lot of fun going through the technique.

Because I love choices, the ladies could choose between the 8 Carat Star pattern above, or the Velvet Star pattern below.

These blocks were the ones I made during the class as examples.  I rather like how they look!  I'm not sure whether they will be turned into another tote bag for a daughter, or into pillows.  I used the Riley Blake challenge fabric, "The Cottage Garden, by Quilted Fish" - mostly because that was the only bundle I didn't have packed up, but it looks cute and they are MY favorite colors!

Guest Host #5 - Building Blocks Tuesday

Aloha again!

Please take a minute (or several) to hop on over to our next Guest Host for Building Blocks Tuesday. This week, Stephanie at Patch + Dot is hosting, and she has such a fresh, clean and modern eye, that I can't wait to see what she has to share.

Olivia Boogie Boarding

We continue to have a great time on our holiday.  Olivia, in particular, has really taken to enjoying all the ocean has to offer in the way of entertainment.

Olivia Boogie Boarding

It is difficult to get her to come out of the water for meals and rest!

If you are wondering what the blue thing is sticking up out of the board, it is actually a little built in snorkel mask so she can see the fishes swimming under her.  The condo that we are staying at has a lot of sea turtles just off the beach, and they are especially fun to look at.

Aloha!
