Hello, fabulous readers! I have a question for you today regarding Building Blocks Tuesday. It is time for me to renew my linky subscription and wow! has it gotten pricey (almost triple what I was paying last year). My question to you is: how much of a difference does having the thumbnail (picture) links below make in your decision to link up AND to click thru to other links? If you wouldn't mind leaving a comment below, I would greatly appreciate it! I only have until the end of this week to make a choice. If I choose not to renew, Building Blocks Tuesday will NOT go away, it will just have text links instead of pictures (because those are free!). Thank you!
Today, I have some more We Bee Canadian bee blocks to share. These are Delectable Mountains for Margaret.
You can see one of Margaret's Delectable Mountain Quilts HERE. It is pretty neat to see how they go together.
I've got a little over a week before the kids return to school. It is only half days for the first week (why do they do that??), but I hope to spend a bit more time in my studio once they are back in the classroom.
What blocks have you been working on this week? I would love to see. Link up your fabulous blocks. You put a lot of hard work into them - show them off! This free linky will stay open until the first Monday of next month, but I will repost it every Tuesday until a new month starts.
Rules:
1) Please link up only to the page on your blog showing your wonderful blocks, not just the blog homepage. Flickr and Instagram pictures are also OK.
2) Make sure to put your blog name as the description so people know where they are going or the name of your block!
3) Please grab my button and post it in your blog post or sidebar.
4) Visit other linky participants!
Thanks for reading,
Jennie

I love to see the pics myself and it does encourage me to click on the links but at the same time I understand about rising costs for our crafting love. I know that on another link up party site the pics have been done away with and there are lots who continue to link up. I tried going through and clicking the links but lost interest in doing so when I could not see the pics. It's the visual stimulation that drives my interest. But that's me.
ReplyDeleteDo what works best for your finances. Those of us who are interested will continue to investigate the links for inspiration.

I have read your blog for over a year and I guess I have never linked through because I don't quite know what you are talking about. I love your tutorials and your esthetic and that's why I keep reading. I know there is highlighted text for referrals and I have clicked on those, but have never gone to any of the places you sometimes list at the end. I don't remember seeing thumbnail pics with links. I hope this isn't too discouraging to you. I know people spend their precious time helping to inform and inspire others and readers come along and pick and choose.
ReplyDeleteYou must do whatever is best for you. Personally I love having the photo because that helps me decide which ones I actually check out. I don't ever have the time or patience to click through all of the links.
ReplyDeleteI receive your blog in my email inbox and don't have a blog myself (so I've never linked up). I just commenting because I do read your blog but I've never clicked over to see the link-ups.
ReplyDeleteI link up to parties with and without the photo links, but I do prefer the photo link ups as I like to see what other linkers have worked on and I will click on a link if the photo looks interesting but rarely do so when it is a text link only.
ReplyDeleteI'm with some of the other commenters that I prefer the photo linkups but I did not understand before I read your post that the photo linkups cost more than just the text linkups. I know I will continue to read your blog and link up no matter what decision you make. Take care, Mary.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy seeing the photos, but I never realised that having a linky meant you incurred a cost. Please do what ever is best for you.
ReplyDeletesorry that I didn't respond in time - I think going the cheaper option is better !!
